In "Kidnapped in Space" where Guy Williams clubs the alien just before taking the fatal laser blast in the gut, you'll notice that the club Guy used bends significantly when he hacks the alien on the head. He seems to give it a glance, perhaps waiting to hear the director yell "cut".
In the next shot, the club is straight again.
